Eraserhead

I'm sure there's been a thread about this before, but I didn't find it in the past few pages, so I'm gonna bring it up for probably a second if not third or fourth time.

I tried watching the first quarter or so of Eraserhead with my girlfriend last weekend, but, as I'm sure doesn't need to be mentioned to those of you who have seen it, it's really not much of a movie to watch with a girlfriend, or maybe even any friend for that matter; it's definitely something to watch alone, patiently.

But yeah, so I'm gonna try to bring myself to watching this thing again this weekend but I don't know, it's taking more will power to sit down with it again than I can muster at the moment.

Anyone who's seen Eraserhead, or any Lynch movies (most of them seem to be just slightly over the line in terms of a "horror" catagorization), what do you think of it? In terms of entartainment, aesthetic, or maybe your interpretation of what in the sweet name of fuck they mean?

They're certainly the types of movies that you have to watch more that once! Lynch never tells you the true meanings behind the stories. He makes you figure it out on your own. Sometimes an online source or viewing other peoples opinions will help you out. I love Eraserhead!

Good flick. definitely recommend you watch it all the way through.

Yeah I dunno how a "search" engine works, can you explain it to me? I heard google was a popular one hmmm how about yahoo? Is this a new thing on the internet? Can you give me a list of popular search engines? I tried looking them up on google, but I couldn't understand the concept of a search engine...this new shit is wayyyyy beyond me.

I just ask a random question about something I'm wondering about and If someone knows the answer they can answer it, if they don't answer... I don't really care. If i wanted to know bad enough Id look it up myself.

The importance of the question is irrelevant, when you/anybody asks a question clearly you are looking for an answer. When you have a simple question, taking a few seconds to type it into google (especially if you use Firefox since there is the google search option right in the top-right corner) and in a matter of seconds you have an answer. When you ask something like, oh I don't know, if there are other DVD version of a movie instead of just googling it. That's being lazy, clearly you want to know but don't want to put in the effort to find out yourself.

To the original topic, art films like Eraserhead do require patience as they are usually slow going so if you aren't in the mood for that kind of a movie it will probably ruin the experience of the movie. Eraserhead is Lynch's most surreal movie, the rest of them are more avant-garde (that's how I think his style of movies are best explained anyways).
