watched this last night. And I was kinda on the fence about it. I thought the special effects were done pretty well. The scene with the birds went a lot better than I thought it would. And I think the tyrant turned out pretty nicely.
But my biggest problem with it was the storyline. Atleast the first 2 movies had some kind of connection to the games, the second a lot more than the first. But this one went so far away from any of the games they basically just made their own flick and called it Resident Evil. The Zombies didn't really have to big a part in the flick, and none of the monsters from any of the games show up. Except the tyrant and the dogs which we had scene before.
They killed off everybody from the previous flick except Alice, which I wasn't big on. Especially Carlos. But by everybody I only mean Carlos and Mike Epps character because well, the young girl from part 2 and Jill Valentine weren't even in it. Not even mentioned. They didn't even bother developing any of the new characters. It was cool to see Clare but she shared no resemblance to her character from the games, there was no back story with her whatsoever and her brother was never mentioned. Finding her brother was the main reason she showed up in the games to begin with. Seeing Wesker was a nice touch too, but if you know the games the guy that played him didn't really scream Wesker to me. The whole movie revolved around Alice evolving her powers. She can move things now with her mind and all that.
And what is it about a safe zone in Alaska? There always seems to be a safe zone there in a movie like this. It'll probably never happen, atleast not for a long time, but somebody needs to go back and make the games into movies. I mean change some stuff up so its not exactly the same. But still make the games into movies. Not movies that revolve around the games. I was hopefull with R.E. when it first started, and enjoyed part 2. But now its just turning into a bunch of sci-fi movies.
