This is a good dramedy from Mr. Woodcock director Craig Gillespie. The film stars Ryan Gosling as a lonely man who has problems communicating with the opposite sex and hates any kind of physical contact. He finds solace in a life-size female doll that he orders online, whom he passes as his real girlfriend.
Throughout the film we see him go through changes in his personality, and watch as he opens up to the people around him. What makes this movie really unique is how Ryan's character is loved by the community within the small town, so they go to great lengths to go along with the guy's delusion of the doll being real, even to the point of taking her out and doing her hair and what-not.
Great performance from Ryan Gosling. Worth a check if you're looking for a sweet and unique little story.
