Beowulf major spoilers

Ok I normally don't wanna give away major spoilers when I start a thread but I feel like I can't really talk about this movie the way I want to unless I do. First off is the movie worth watching? Yeah it is. Especially if you've been waiting for some animation thats more adult here in states. I've been waiting awhile for somethin like that.

So like I said in the end its worth watching but does it follow the poem??? No. Which I was bummed about cuz I'm a fan of Beowulf. First off he doesn't kill Grendel's mother like he's supposed to and instead inpregnates her and then has a son that ends up being the dragon from the poem. What??? It never bugged me that Angelina played Grendels mother, but it did bother me that it never really showed her in her true form except for in reflections. I personally liked Grendel. And he even lost his arm like he does in the Poem. But once Beowulf goes to the cave to fight Grendels mother everything just turns a complete 180. And so Grendels mother wins in the end after all because Beowulfs greed caused him to not kill her after she offers him a kingdom. I just didn't like how the movie changed from the poem halfway through.......and did Beowulf really need to fight Grendel naked?

But the animation is good and I especially liked the sea monster sequence. I didn't hate it. I didn't regret renting it. But I wouldn't own it.

i really liked this movie from its own merits, i never knew there was a older story til way after i seen the movie, that may be because i'm an uncultured fuck =)

The movie wasn't bad by any means. And i knew nothing of the poem that it's from. But if I had, I would of been pretty pissed being how far away it went from it. All and all it wasn't bad. It was just ok.
