anyway The Ruins was good but it wasn't what I expected, thought it was going to be extremely gory but it wasn't. Overall a very solid movie 7/10

I read this book right after it came out and as I was reading I kept thinking it would make a great horror movie... then I found out it was getting made into one. I am a bit apprehensive about seeing it, but I am sure I will eventually. I am afraid I will be disappointed... but I usually am after reading the book first. :2eyes:

Caught this one last night. It was pretty much more disgusting than it was scary.
Getting tired of movies like this. Young teens (with money) find themselves in an unfamiliar environment and then either get tortured to death or have to do things they would rather not do to others to save their own lives. It's getting old fast.
The one thing I found interesting, briefly:

The fact that the vines were not just hungry for flesh but had intelligence as well. The flowers tormenting the mind of the blond chick was kinda wicked. Too bad there wasn't more of that. Bad flick overall IMO.

SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK...
After everyone dies on the ruins besides the brown haired girl, she cuts her wrists and commits suicide. She does it for the villagers to see and when they see she's dead they pack up and leave.
She puts her body close to the bottom of the ruins to warn the Greeks just in case they try to come for them, but the vines take her body away and the Greeks show up, obviously to the same fate.
Anyways, I loved how the movie turned out. When I read the book last year I was so psyched and hoped they wouldn't fuck up the movie and they didn't. They left some things out and tweaked the ending but that's understandable if they want a movie to make money. 8/10

i just got done with the book ( my mommy got it for me cause i told her i wanted to see the movie.) i couldn't put it down. i will probably just wait til it comes out tho cause i can.
