Wasn't there a special feature on one of the LHOTL dvds that actually said it was inspired by Virgin Spring? If so then you can't really say the filmmakers ripped anything off if they did it intentionally.

Hard to consider Virgin Spring as only inspiration when the only thing that they did different in LHOTL is add a women into the gang, an additional girl to be raped/killed, and made it more graphic. Besides if Craven did actually mention Virgin Spring in LHOTL it's probably do to the fact that it's been made obvious of how much he was "inspired" by Virgin Spring, even though he made no mention of it in the documentary American Nightmare. Only mentioned how he was influenced by Vietnam war footage.

Don't get me wrong I like LHOTL especially since it was the first exploitation film I watched, but it is a rip of Virgin Spring and Craven is a hack.

Although not really rape/revenge "White Rose Campus: Then Everybody Gets Raped" is probably the best rape flick ever. When one of the scum bags is shows sucking on used tampons, it makes nearly impossible to be topped.

Have you seen the movie? This is one movie that I own and will probably never watch again because it's so horrific. I'm not sure how I can convince you or anyone else otherwise...but honestly...putting this title is the thriller/drama category would be just ridiculous.
