MY GODThe Fly: In September 2009, reports swirled that David Cronenberg was in negotiations to remake his own remake of The Fly, although nothing has been finalized.
It: In March 2009, it was reported that a remake of the made-for-TV adaptation of the Stephen King novel It was headed for the big screen. At that time, a writer had been hired, but little else had been decided for the Warner Brothers property.
Martyrs: In December 2008, it was revealed that Dimension was negotiating the rights to remake the infamously brutal French film Martyrs, about an abused woman who seeks revenge on her former captors and ends up with more than she bargained for. With the original director, Pascal Laugier, busy on the Hellraiser remake, he's not expected to helm this version of the film.
Poltergeist: In August 2008, MGM hired writers Juliet Snowden and Stiles White to pen this remake, which has been set for a November 24, 2010 theatrical release, with Vadim Perelman (House of Sand and Fog) directing. No word yet as to how faithful it will be to the original.
Re-Animator: In February 2009, it was announced that producers Ray Haboush and Brian Yuzna were developing a remake, possibly shot in 3-D. It remains in the very early stages.
Rosemary's Baby: Platinum Dunes announced in March 2008 that it was pursuing Rosemary's Baby for a remake, but in December, it called off those plans.
Silent Night, Deadly Night: If they're gonna remake Prom Night and My Bloody Valentine, they may as well go back for the killer Santa slasher Silent Night, Deadly Night. Originally scheduled for Christmas 2008, things appear to have stalled.

There should never be An American Werewolf In London remake period - That transformation scene will never be bettered - not even by Rick Baker,he showed that with The Wolfman.

Meh... none of this really bothers me... Horror movies either suck or the don't... Horror remakes either suck or they don't... probably in about the same ratio... Chances are, if you watch any "original" horror flick in the last 20 years, there's probably already half a dozen other movies before it, with the exact same plot anyway...

There shouldn't be a poltergiest remake either. Most of these remakes don't really do anything for the franchise or the fans of them. Even FRIDAY THE 13TH & ANOES, which were ok remakes, didn't come close to being as good as the originals. They should stick to just remaking like 60s & 70s obscure movies that many people may not have seen in the 1st place.

This is a very good point actually. I have complained yet still have seen remakes that have been done, and i havent hated them all. It used to really bother me, but im beginning to see the other side in that with certain films, maybe they feel it was such a classic that they want to update it for future audiences. With the developments in technology sometimes affects can be done better (although agree with point previous made that with certain films, the cgi affects are actually awful compared with the genius ways they did special fx in certain films in the past!) There are very few original ideas out there anyway that havent 'borrowed' ideas from other films.
End point being that a lot of them have done pretty well money wise and therefore the studios arent going to stop doing remakes anytime soon.

Congress should set a list of "classic" horror movies. That cannot be remade for 50 years.... just saying

If they're gonna remake a movie, you'd think they'd at least try to remake something that was a piece of crap to begin with and then improve on it.
