Jamie Morgan has a large disfiguring birthmark on his face, in the shape of a heart. It’s a unique deformity that has left him alone in a cynical society. He lives with his mother, Marion, in the East End of London - in an area notorious for its violent hooded gangs. The news reports say that the gangs are now wearing demon masks. One night, Marion is attacked and brutally murdered. Jamie realises that the gangs are not just kids wearing masks, but real demons, and hell is starting to descend on the city.
Jamie embarks on a mission of revenge and comes face to face with the master demon - Papa B. Jamie is offered a deal, a second chance at life. The chance to get rid of his birthmark and become normal. It’s a shot at everything he’s ever wanted - friends, happiness, a chance to fall in love. But there is a price. In return, Jamie must join them and become part of the violence that Papa B is orchestrating from the rooftops of East London.With nobody left to guide or comfort him, Jamie enters into a Faustian pact – his birthmarks will be removed, giving him a chance at a normal life and love, in exchange for some minor acts of chaos. Of course, no deal with the Devil is ever as simple as it seems to be, and soon Jamie is forced into murderous acts of sacrifice. Along the way he meets Tia and a relationship blossoms – but can Jamie protect her, and indeed himself, from the new world he has entered?

Heartless is an exciting journey that weaves in and out of genres… gangland crime thriller, awkward adolescent romance, psychological horror, while being fused with Ridley’s favorite themes of suicide, sacrifice and transfiguration. And it bears noting that while the film definitely carries a message urging people to open their eyes, resist the temptation to live their lives in fear and generally behave like decent human beings.The ending is almost a warning against blind faith or wide-eyed naivete. This strange unsettling story just absolutely refuses to do anything easy- Questions left unanswered and emotions left wide open, Its a brave, bold, heartbreaking, and down dirty terrifying film. This movie is comforting and unsettling all mixed into a movie that couldnt be spoken more highly of..
I really like Jim Sturgess,he delivers a powerful unforgettable performance.
So do you think this movie will truly reflect actually demons and the aspect of hell on Earth or leaving you scratching your heads in Confusion.
