Not a big fan of the original, and I think a remake wouldn't be an entirely bad idea, especially with what films can get away with now-a-days.

Agreed, the original almost put me to sleep. The idea was good delivery was bad so I welcome a remake of this.

There is no way the rape scenes will feel as real as the first. Plus there will likely be somee overly hot lead actress, and she'll be more like GI Jane.

I Spit on Your Grave remake...

I'm guess I'm one of the small few that is happy they are making a remake of this movie. I hope they don't have a lot of rape scenes and make it more... what's the word...Less gratuitous. That's it. I think making the movie less gratuitous can bring more fans to the movie and focus more on the revenge than the rapes itself.
If they make the remake feel like Irréversible... Then it'll be something to look forward too and a movie for me... I don't finally have to watch it by myself, but with others.
But then again why do fans of original like the original? For the revenge?

The first one wasn't that great. But it had a certain camp mixed with shock vibe
to it that I think people liked. They are remaking this because they think the title will get people in the seats, instead of actually writing a new rape/revenge movie.
They'll probably remake Thriller: They Call Her One Eye now which is way better.
