The first one wasn't that great. But it had a certain camp mixed with shock vibe
to it that I think people liked. They are remaking this because they think the title will get people in the seats, instead of actually writing a new rape/revenge movie.
They'll probably remake Thriller: They Call Her One Eye now which is way better.

I really can't see rape/revenge remakes taking off, as you said this is being remade because of it's title alone. Alot of people haven't seen it, but know the name and it has achieved a cult status so there for it makes it an obvious choice for a remake.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if this gets shuffled off to the DTV pile.

There is no way the rape scenes will feel as real as the first. Plus there will likely be somee overly hot lead actress, and she'll be more like GI Jane.

exactly. the violation, the nudity, the realism will all be lost in a remake. There is no way it will work. look how lame the rape was in The Hills remake. this is a waste of time. Not only that but the leading actress had a frail unperfect body which people could relate to since majority of women are not. If you add a girl with a body it will change your thoughts of her and the acts against her imo

BOOO-URNS!!!!! This movie does not require a remake, the original was mediocre at best. I understand the reason why it is held in such high remarks, but that was because of the time in which it was made. Now I'm sure it wouldn't be near as "profound" considering films like "irreversible". Not to mention they would prolly get J Lo or Jodie Foster to play the main character, weak fuckin sauce.
