The story of the Cannibal and the Flesh...
In 2003, a man with a lifelong cannibalistic obsession placed an advertisement on the Internet in search of a victim to eat. Unbelievably he received a reply from a willing victim, whereby the stage was set for one of the most awful and depraved crimes of modern times. The gruesome incident was captured on camcorder and the footage formed part of the evidence at the trial of the world's most infamous cannibal.
CANNIBAL is a horrifying dramatic reenactment of the gruesome relationship between two depraved human beings. One with an insatiable appetite for human flesh, the other with a yearning to be consumed and thereby become one with the predator.
Gruesome, repulsive but riveting, CANNIBAL cannot help but hold an awful fascination for devotees of the macabre.
------------------------------------------
One of two movies based around the infamous Armin Meiwes case, where a man put an ad out on the internet looking for a willing victim to allow themselves to be eaten, in which he received a response.
The movie never gets really graphic until the last 1/4 of the movie, while fairly dark it does feature one of the more graphic castration scenes I've seen. Then a fairly long scene of Meiwes (only referred to as The Cannibal in the movie) butchering the body and preparing the meat for a feast.
The movie spends it's time dealing with the (brief) relationship and the sickness the two men shared, and the love. So as a fair warning if you are offended or bothered by male nudity and gay sex scenes, then this isn't the movie for you. While it may not be a shit eating, child corpse fucking kind of nasty flick it is rather disturbing and good movie.
Another movie that is released about the Meiwes case is Rohtenburg (aka Butterfly: A Grimm Love Story) which is suppose to be the superior movie. There's also a Uli Lommel movie about the story, but Lommel's movies make Uwe Boll movies look like master pieces.
