"Stop whining or I'm gonna have to terminate you now!"
Vivian, a young newspaper journalist interviews Frederick, the eerie undertaker of a small Californian town. During the interview, he reveals a dark secret surrounding his cemetery and tells her the story of two people who were buried there.
Frederick's first story is about a powerful L.A. mobster who invites his friends to a dinner that - with the arrival of a mysterious suitcase - spins totally out of control.
His second story takes place in medieval Europe, where a sadistic inquisitor searches for an ancient evil relic that will grant him eternal life and ultimate power. Both stories lead to Frederick and his very strange obsession. That's when Vivian realises that the evil of the past is still alive...
Following the successful shocker Legion of the Dead, Beyond the Limits is the latest frightener from goremeister Olaf Ittenbcah.
There is a torrent available at Cinemageddon unfortunatly there are no seeds at the moment, but if you make a request you should be able to a get a reseeder.
There is also a Region 2 PAL DVD available.

Well this was one of the biggest surprises for me. I was certainly one of the people castings stones at Olaf after seeing that huge pile of cheesy crap known at Premutos: Lord of the Living Dead.
So when I watched the first story in Beyond the Limits, I was happy to see that Olaf had gotten rid of the cheese, brought in some people who had some decent acting chops. While it still shot on HD/DV it's a vast improvment over his previous efforts which were shot on video (probably S-VHS).
Unfortunately it does contain one of his signatures as you can see in the pics, from the second story one of our characters finds himself in hell getting tortured by demons. Which does take away a bit from the serious tone he had made with the first story, aswell as one of the inquisitor's using kung fu during a battle sequence. Sorry though, I wasn't able to get many pics of the second story while it is graphic as the first alot of stuff is in close up so even if I took a pic you wouldn't be able to tell what it was.
That being said this is a movie worth checking out just for the first story alone. Not a real gross out-disgusting style but it just has such a brutal mean-spiritedness when he is torturing the party guests to get answers that you'll be glued to your seat. A woman getting her head almost cut completely off when she is getting strangled with wire (pic is above), another getting beat with a hammer, etc.
Also incase anybody is wondering, yes Olaf is a German director but the movies spoken language is English.
