Sorry but that's how I truly feel. Any of the scenes where leatherface is not in it, bores me to death. Perhaps I have to watch it more, since I've only seen it twice.

DOTD is in every sense of the word Superior, to that modernized version. If you actually prefer the generic and unrefreshing remake you have some seriously poor taste in horror films
I like both of them. I prefer the original version over the newer version, but they are both good in their own sense.
The original DOTD has more of a character pace in the movie showing them trying to survive the zombie outbreak in a mall while still trying to maintain their civilized ways thats been lost in the outbreak (that's how I always interpreted when I first saw it) , which I love. Am a fan of movies that can focus on the characterization of characters and not rush everything into a cliche death and action sequences.
The new version of DOTD I like due to the running zombies (which beings back memories of Return of the Living Dead) and the tension of the survivors trying to survive the undead apocalypse that are more aggressive than usual from what you see in other zombie movies.
The original will always have first place over the original due it having more of a survival story among the characters and not moving scene to scene all quick just to get to the action (which kinda annoyed me for the newer version). But still like both of them.
