the thing by far is the best remake. i remember my dad used to make me watch the original and i hated it. but i think a lot had to do with the cast in the remake.
i am sure i am going to get a lot of slack for this but i have to say it: i prefer alot of the remakes today simply because the acting is so much better now a days then back then.
my other remakes are: house on haunted hill, the hills have eyes, and tcm. sorry
i get an f for failure to proof read everything
throw up those goats!!!
i broke up with myspace, it was suffocating me. but i am an addict and now i am back
Although I can sit through The Thing From Another World, the remake is gold. nuff said.

I seen a remake of Nosferatu in store today, anyone know if that's any good?

I understand why TCM '74 was considered bold and original, but that was back during it's time. I am not denying it's impact, but I found the remake to keep my interest better.

If your talking about the one starring Willem Defoe as Max Shrek (I cant remember the title off hand), its a pretty good flick. Its more like a movie within a movie, where the story takes place while shooting Nosferatu with Max Shrek being a real vampire.
Not bad. Cant remember the title, though

I have that one, it is very faithful to both the original and the book. If you remember the 90's Bram Stoker's Dracula it follows the same story line but uses the original Nosferatu as a basis for character designs and setting.
I highly reccomend it, by far Klaus Kinski's best role (though he was pretty effing funny in Creature)
It does not surpass the original IMO, but it is pretty awesome.

Cool. It's really cheap, which is good..

I prefered the remake of The Last House in the Left to the original.
Can't agree on MBV 3D. Even though I enjoyed it I thought the original was a tighter and better film. I also liked the kills more in the original. They were more than pick axe kill after pick axe kill like in the remake. We got a cool head impalement, a killer nail gun death etc.
