I like Madman too, pretty tame but still atmospheric.
Body Count is ok, directed by Lamberto Bava, more of a second teir slasher, same with slumber party massacre.

No particular order:
Silent Night, Deadly Night
Nightmare on Elm Street (first one)
And since people already put Freddy out there, I'll put my favorite puppet killer out there: the first Child's Play.

Just Before Dawn, The Prowler, Intruder and The Burning are among my favourites. I tend to lean towards Just Before Dawn. It was pretty tense at times, the kills were gory and I always wondered how such a low budget slasher flick was able to use Blondie's Heart of Glass in the beginning. Could they even afford that?
Could Hunter's Blood be included in the slasher sub-genre? That too was a pretty good film.

Maniac, The Burning, Black Christmas, a bunch of F13, etc are really good ones.
I also always liked Return to Horror High. While it's not as good as the other ones, it's still fun and worth a mention from me.

A Nightmare On Elm Street probably. Of all the ways I've seen Johnny Depp dying that one is probably the best too.
Bruce Campbell has the power to turn lead into gold, simply by farting on it.
