    It's strange how we change?

When I was young I loved The nightmare On Elm Street, Child's Play and Lepurchaun movies now I can't stand them. I own most of them, but I still can't stand them anymore. Same with music. Megadeth used to be my favorite for about 15 yrs now... I used be a democrate then they became socialsits. So I became a republican and now they have been taken over by socialists. So now I don't vote.

Agree on ANOES, I liked them when I was a kid but now they just seem corny.

As years pass we change. I used to hate black and white films because it was "different" now I love them. I didn't like Friday the 13th six years ago, now I love it. I used to hate broccoli, now it tastes pretty good.

Democrats have leaned toward the socialist side of the economic spectum since long before you were even born.

It's just life. Our tastes change as we grow up and get a better understanding of our world. My cousin used to be all into rap, guns, and gangster stuff. That was about fourteen years ago. I saw him last summer, and he's found God, very soft-spoken, and teaches at a private school for Koreans.

As for horror and "A Nightmare on Elm Street", I used to freak the f**k out in the scene where Tina is killed. But now, I absolutely love it. Probably the best part of that movie. It's a very well-played death scene.

Also, Dr. Lecter used to scare me. :mhehe:

    Staind - Everything Changes lyrics

    If you just walked away
    What could I really say?
    would it matter anyway?
would it change how you feel?

I am the mess you chose
the closet you can not close
The devil in you I suppose
    'cuz the wounds never heal

    (Chorus)
    But everything changes
if I could turn back the years
If you could learn to forgive me
then I could learn to feel

    Sometimes the things I say
    In moments of disarray
Succumbing to the games we play
To make sure that it's real

    (Chorus)

When it's just me and you
Who knows what we could do
If we can just make it through
through this part of the day

    (Chorus)

    Then we could
    Stay here together
    And we could
    Conquer the world
    If we could
    Say that forever
It's more than just a word

    If you just walked away
    What could I really say?
    It wouldn't matter anyway.
It wouldn't change how you feel

    ------------------------------------

Well anyways now that I have that off my chest, Freddy and Tremors would freak me out when I was younger. Now they're great popcorn flicks that I can watch anytime and have a laugh. Love em.

I agree that change can be good but it's certainly a double edged sword. Gas prices are fucking ridiculous, movie movies/tv these days suck, alot of the music today doesn't have the passion, the power and the soul of those decades previous.

Personally change has been welcomed as of late, speaking personally of course, as I moved to a new town for work. Only a few years ago I was shy, wouldn't speak out and clearly overweight. I ain't small now but down to a comfortable and healthy weight and I have no problem talking out now or telling something to fuck off.

Change is strange but sometimes it's necessary.

yes change is a weird thing. I hated The Thing when I was a kid. Then I watched it again years later and thought wow, this is the greatest horror flick I've ever seen.

I don't know. I used to hate 80's horror films, but now I love them. I think I've become more nostalgic because horror films like Saw IV, for example, just don't offer up anything fun IMO.

Well put. We become who we are by our surroundings and environment and as you put said our understanding of our world, which always changes so it's only natural that we would change too. Everything from what our tastes are in movies and music, to our priorities, values and morals in life.

I'd consider it to be more unusual for someone/something to not change, no matter how minor it may be...Well maybe, depending on the circumstances.

    //////////

I did not think the meaning of socialism had changed and I was right. Both political parties are pretty much socialist.

Socialism refers to any of various economic and political concepts of state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods and services, some of which have been developed into more or less highly articulated theories and/or praxis. [1] In a Marxist or labor-movement definition of the term, socialism is a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done with the goal of creating a socio-economic system in which property and the distribution of wealth are subject to control by the community. [2] This control may be exercised on behalf of the state, through a market, or through popular collectives such as workers' councils and cooperatives. As an economic system, socialism is often characterized by state, cooperative, or worker ownership of the means of production, goals which have been attributed to, and claimed by, a number of political parties and governments.

I wouldnt say my taste in horror movies or how I feel about them have changed over the years. For other genres without question I have different sentiments about certain movies but the horror genre for one reason or another I havent really changed much with.

Changing over time is a no-brainer.

If my favorite band--or favorite anything, for that matter--stayed the same from youth to adulthood I'd be pretty worried...
