Just because it's horror and it made an impact on the horror genre doesn't mean all horror fans must love it or even like it. I mean, there are numerous horror fans that don't like Halloween, Friday the 13th, The Last House on the Left, even old school Dracula and Frankenstein movies. They're still horror fans despite disagreeing with other horror fans. I'm sure there's a horror movie out there you don't like. Does it make you any less of a horror fan? No. It means you have a particular taste, like most people on this thread and that's the point of this thread.

For me it is... Cemetery Man.

I just bought this movie a few weeks ago, because I'm a huge zombie fan and I heard it's one of the best horror movies out there. So I gave it a shot....

I don't know what to say... For me it's was below average. There were many scenes that drag too long for me and I understand it's more an art form movie with zombies, but you can get the same effect with out any zombies. I don't know, I guess I expect to see more actions, zombies and gore... The only good in the movie is Anna Falchi.

I'd have to say the Exorcist is a movie I never really got into. It was supposed to be so scary when I was a kid and I kept fallin asleep on my first veiwing. Years later I got the version you've never seen and watched it all the way through for the first time, and that didn't change my opinion.

I really like what you've said here and you have a great point. What makes a horror fan is their willingness to appreciate that some movies are classic and have revolutionized the genre and/or film. That doesn't mean that a movie has to be liked by all just because it is regarded as classic or important. I would dare to argue that a large number of people who bestow such great honors upon such films as NOTLD, Dracula, Exorcist, etc. don't watch these movies more than 4-5 times a year if that. The point being is that you are a horror fan (opinion) if you are willing to watch a movie that helped define/change the genre and walk away with your own opinion about it. Whether you like it or not has nothing to do with recognizing the importance.

That being said one movie I just can't stand is the original Friday the 13th...although I have a soft spot for the sequels

The Exorcist THE most overrated horror movie of all time the best part was when she shoved the crucifix in her pussy that had me cracking up other than that hated it. My GF even fell asleep during it.

Amen. This is how I feel. I fall asleep every time I try to watch that movie.

The shining - Overrated. Jack Nicholson plays himself. He's crazy from the beginning, there's no character arc, Shelly Duvall is a goddamned robot. I just don't get what everyone likes about this movie. there are some creepy images like the evil twin girls, yes. I can watch tons of other movies that have creepy images that also have good acting and well developed characters, I don't have to watch this tripe.

I feel your pain. I looked forward to this movie for years, then it was such a let down. I recommend "The Church" to this, it's far superior IMO (which is an opinion that gets me yelled at a lot).
