I haven't seen it in probably 10 or 15 years...but from what I remember, it lacked action and a lot of the gore was "after the fact".
It's true, but I still love it. Not as much as Aliens or The Fly or The Thing or anything like that, but it's a lot of fun. The interplay between Stone and Durkin makes the movie for me. The monster is just a ripoff of Alien, but I love Alien so that just endears it all the more, and it has some good atmosphere when they're down in the sewers.

I love how Durkin is chomping cigars and acting just as crazy as Stone at the end. They can finish each other's sentences. "We need to get bigger guns. Big f*ckin guns."
