They already brushed upon that in Scream 3. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see why they would need to elaborate more on it.

I suppose its been said many times before but the idea that this series not only needs another sequel but needs a fuckin reboot after only eight years? Call it pathetic because the Weinsteins are afraid to attach a number 4 onto the title screen to call it Scream 4.

Outside of the SAW series right now. Everyone else seems afraid to attach a number to a series beyond 3 because even though SAW right now is the exception. Audiences are a tiny, tiny bit smarter and know when to avoid a sequel when the number starts rising.

Call it smart marketing but a reboot for a series thats 8 years since the last entry is a bit foolish as is the idea of another movie alltogether.

This is why we see remakes today over just straightup sequels with numbers attached to them. Its been said redundantly and repetitively as we know. I suppose its just studios playing it smarter today than they did in the 80s and early 90s. Or its just pure lazyness.

Preety much lazyness, but wth i'll go see just to see what has changed.

they really should leave the trilogy alone, but i REALLY don't understand all the hatred for the series. i know they weren't theatrical masterpieces or anything, but definately more entertaining than some of the other movies that get sweated on this board....

i do think the 1st was overrated though, but maybe cuz that's the only one i didn't get to see on the big screen.

I totally agree. When Scream came out, everyone jacked off to it because it was good. Much better than half the shit people praise here. Sorry kids.

Scream was a good movie, especially for the time it was released. Two and three left a lot to be desired. I'll watch the next one they put out and judge it then.

I know i remember 3 going out of the theaters really fast. I wonder if they are really going to put it on showtime though. I don't know i heard they were going to make it to be put on a showtime special, like a series or something, but i could be wrong. I'll still see it though

I've thought about a possible plot.

Sidney Prescott has been found dead in her home. Someone has finally killed her. And around the time, her brother Andrew (played by Neve's actual brother Christian Campbell) shows up in town. Immediately a suspect, he sets out to discover the secret behind the new rash of murders. But no one believes him. But then again, how come Sidney never mentioned a brother? Is he really who he says he is? If he isn't, who is he? If he is, then why did Sidney never speak of him? And is Sidney REALLY dead?
