Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.

watched:
The Etruscan Kills Again 2/10
Daath Walks at Midnight 6/10
Death Carries a Cane 8/10
Death Carries a Cane was a great Giallo and is on the serious side. The kills were pretty cool and just about every horror convention was used in it. The music and atmosphere were great, so was the eye candy. Strongly recommended to fans of the genre or anyone who wants to see a good flick..

I, for one, am totally into giallos right now. But so far, all I have is The Red Queen Kills 7 Times on my PSP, a DVD-R of giallo trailers called Giallorama, and some other stuff on those cheap-o St. Clair Vision box sets.
I'm actually working on an idea for one. Basically, this guy comes to visit a small town in North Carolina (my home town, actually), after his sister is found dead on the beach. It could be the work of a serial killer, according to a new acquaintance of his, a horror nut who is basically a fictional version of myself. According to this guy, his sister's death is part of a string of killings that he suggests are done by a killer who copies infamous death scenes from works of European cinema, mostly Italian giallos. Sadly, however, this makes him a suspect. But he's not the only suspect. There's also the cop who seems far too willing to share sensitive information about a serial killer with two random people. And a few others. It's still a WIP.
It's ironic that a killer would strike here (where they also shot part of the film Nights in Rodanthe), since a town this small would make serial killing impossible.

I have three or four Giallo flicks sitting around that I'm just never in the mood to check out. Hopefully I'll get Torso tomorrow, never seen it but heard good things so that should be fun. Kind of wanting to check that one out, been meaning to pick it up forever. Kind of new to the Giallo, I've seen mostly the bigger named stuff such as:
Bird with the Crystal Plumage
Deep Red
Tenebre
Opera
Four Flies on Grey Velvet
Bay of Blood
Don't Torture A Duckling
New York Ripper
A Blade in the Dark
I really need to play catch up!

Finished up "Giallo a Venezia". Mediocre flick, good for sleaze but not much else, I'd probably give it a 5/10.
