Personally, I would love to see a host of villains in the next one.

In it, The Riddler (now a misanthropic hacker who only respects intelligence) has begun a massive plot against Batman. His pawns in this sick game? Disgraced criminal psychologist-turned-homicidal maniac Harley "Harlequin" Quintzel, flora-minded eco-terrorist Poison Ivy, tragically demented Mr. Freeze, and experimental strongman Bane. But Batman is not alone. Helping him is the seductive jewel thief Catwoman and reformed teenage hoodlum Dick Grayson (a.k.a. Robin).

Also, the Robin in my idea is NOT the same Robin as seen in other incarnations of the character. He's bitter, angry, rage-ridden, sardonic, caustic, and severly vice-ridden (he drinks, smokes, vandalizes, fights, etc). Basically, he's the ultimate "lost cause", trying to defeat his demons and come to terms with why he's like this by donning a hoodie and sunglasses and wielding homemade weapons (collapsable quarterstaff, throwing knives, minor explosives, and the like). That's why he'd be played by Shia LaBeouf.

I'm sorry dude, but that is a terrible idea... might be good for a saturday morning cartoon, but absolutely does not fit with the current framework of this movie series.

All I have to say about Robin is: FUCK NO, if he somehow showed up I'd have to fly down to L.A. and personally punch Nolan in the face, but seeing as it wont happen, we wont have to worry about it, so quit sharing your hard-on for Robin with us.:damnit:

Superman 3 had a new directer, Batman Forever had a new directer, X3 had a new directer, and Sam Raimi was forced to put in Venom. Keep Nolan in and happy, we'll get another great movie.

Richard Lester finished up directing Superman 2. How much he did I am not sure, and I haven't seen that Donner cut.

It's not just directors, but also tone and this could be brought on by the Studio heads worried about losing audiences. They all got much lighter and brought in more comedic elements bordering on Self Parody. Raimi needed someone to tether down his love for slapstick and cornball humor. Worked for ED 2 killed AOD and Spider-man 3. Maybe the man should stay away from threes...

Doesn't seem like Nolan's interested in that route and TDK already brought in Batman Returns total gross in a weekend. So I doubt WB still worries about the series being "too dark".

Interesting fact, he was almost cast as the lead in 'Memento' but lost out to Guy Peirce.

You're idea is something that should be in the comics or a cartoon. You want to bring in a gauntlet of villains with no backup and say "Fight 'em Batman!"

Well, technically, he referred to the current version of Robin. I mean, obviously, some underaged pedo-bait in tights (or in some versions, some over-Nair'ed legs) wouldn't work in Nolan's Batman.

But IMO, someone like I describes, someone who's just basically your standard lost cause teenager with anger issues and punk/emo style, might work.

I mean, if he can get away with throwing out most of the more unrealistic elements of the Batman comics, he can find a way to fit Robin into the works. I mean, no one says that Robin HAS TO be a sidekick. I mean, it's not like I'm suggesting Batgirl.

Well technically......No Robin is Robin is Robin is Robin is Robin is Robin is Robin. You can't change the fact that he/she is a sidekick and they are turned off to the whole idea of it. You don't add a Playskool car seat to a Lamborghini. And since when did this series have to branch off into the Teen Titans? Just because this is the film series for Batman doesn't mean every single thing has to come out from it like the comics. You can do a TT movie without setting up Robin in this series, because its got nothing to do with the Nola-verse.
