Depp as the Mad Hatter?

UK, July 29, 2008 - Will Johnny Depp and Tim Burton re-team on the director's forthcoming Alice in Wonderland feature? Studio Disney is neither confirming nor denying his involvement, but online rumours are rife that the long-time friends will collaboorate on the 3D feature.

What is known is that Burton has finally found his Alice, and she's Mia Wasikowska, an up-and-coming actress from Australia.

Wasikowska has previously starred in TV shows All Saints and In Treatment and has just finished playing the young Amelia Earhart in the recently-wrapped biopic of the legendary aviator.

Linda Woolverton (The Lion King) has written the Alice script, which will be shot by combining live-action footage with performance-capture animation.

Depends on the movie for me. Burton either does a great job (corpse bride, sweeney todd) or completely misses the mark (willy wonka,batman). I'll give this a shot. The Depp as Mad Hatter rumors started as soon as this was announced. Not that its not out of the realm of possibility because they do a lot of movies together. I think he'd make a good mad hatter.

I could have guest Depp would have some sort of role in Burton next film. I like Tim Burton's movies; always have. I'll be seeing this when it comes out.

Depp is a good actor but sometimes I think he should go his seperate way and try something that doesnt involve Burton. No offense to Burton and Depp when their together but when they are. You pretty much know to expect.

I think Burton needs Depp more than Depp needs Burton. Depp is still a big, big box office attraction and him/Burton made alot of money together. That said, Depp needs to do something else besides POTC and Burton flicks IMO.

Pretty much. The only burton flick I've liked without depp was Batman.
