Snyder can now do another GN adaptation

"At the Watchmen panel, Zack Snyder expressed his love for Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, in response to a question about the more mature direction of comic book adaptations.

“There are a lot of other graphic novels out there, but I would love to see Frank Miller’s Dark Knight made into a movie, but that’s just me.”

Later at the Entertainment Weekly Visionaries panel, Frank Miller told Snyder “You can do it anytime you want to Zack”. To which Snyder said he was making a note of Miller’s response. Now I know this is very speculative, but even Batman producer Michael Uslan has already expressed interest in a possible adaptation."

I really want to see this on screen, as it is the best Batman story ever written.

Well we'll have to wait, I dont see 2 Batman series being out at the same time, maybe thsi put a bit of a fire under Nolans ass to get started on the next batman movie earlier, but then again I dont want a rushed 3rd movie. But either way i cant wait to see thsi get made, and the way Frank Miller makes sure his stuff isnt fucked with it'll be one damn good movie.

This actually seems like a better idea. Since the thing is either kill a series with sequels or reinvent it after the dust has settled. Once Nolan has decided to move on with his take on the character, try out this version. If done right this would look great on screen. Unless it just looks like people standing in front of a green screen, not sure yet with Snider. An animated version, that sticks with miller's style and with Kevin Conroy's gruff voice might be cool as well.

I agree with whoever said this would be good animated. I think it would be great like that, but when it comes to green screens and stuff. I do feel like this needs to be a more artsy kinda batman flick. With some slo-mo, over the top acting and some wild colors and all that.

My comment was meant to be sarcastic. I love Adam West and the 60s batman. It's deliberately corny and it works. A long time ago comics were actually written for children and were pretty ridiculous. The series took that and ran with it. Now if you excuse me I have to take a call on my bat-phone. Please pull up a chair and have a bat-seat.
