I won't be very excited if they ditch Topher Grace, though. He should have been Spider-Man. They could at least give him second place.

venom sucked. He didn't act like the Venom from the comics at all. I can see Topher Grace as Carnage, but not Venom. He never refered to himself as "we" and he was jut a regular evil bad guy. He wasn't done right.

EXACTLY, the whole time seeing Venom in Spiderman 3 all I could think was "if he was red theyd have carnage right" but they fucking butchered the character in the movie, if they do make this spin-off he needs to be a MUCH bigger villian, not a twig like Foreplay.

oh, raimi just decided to completely change the character. Instead of Venom being like he is in the comics he wanted an "anti-spider-man" that mirrored him in every way, instead of in just some ways. So in other words a director got ahold of aknown character and changed him to his liking like so many of them like to do. I hate when they do that. Changing storylines from the comics can work, aka Dark Knight. But for Spiderman 3.....it did not work.

Too many villains didn't hurt the later Batman films, they were just mishandled and poorly performed. BB and TDK had multiple villains but it wasn't the "Let's team up" bullshit.
