Myers reportedly writing fourth installment.

July 31, 2008 - Mike Myers is reportedly returning to his most iconic role in the wake of the commercial and critical failure of his last release, The Love Guru.

Deadline Hollywood Daily reports that Myers is currently scripting Austin Powers 4 with Mike McCullers, his co-writer on that last two Powers sequels. The site claims the story "will focus on Austin's arch-villain Dr. Evil, who was based on Blofeld of the Bond films. But what hasn't been known is that the AP4 plot is really about Dr. Evil and his son (introduced already as Scott Evil, played by Seth Green)."

This jives with what Myers told IGN last year while doing press for Shrek the Third that "there is a fully conceived idea for a fourth and I can just say that it's from Dr. Evil's point of view. So if you balanced how much of it was Austin with Dr. Evil, it's more about Dr. Evil than Austin.

New Line Cinema, which is now a production entity at Warner Bros. rather than its own studio, is developing the project.

I had a feeling there would be another one in the near future. Dr. Evil is a pretty hilarious character. I'd see the movie just for that.

We'll see how this goes. I really enjoyed the first one and the second one wasn't too bad but the last one just fell off the wagon so I won't hold my breath on this one.

Best Myers movie is So...I Married an Axe Murderer. The Powers flicks, as said before, aren't much for replayability. I didn't actually mind The Love Guru at all also.

Part 3 felt so sloppy, they just rambled and improvised and tried to make a film out of it. Not surprising he's going back to Austin after the love guru sank.

God the love guru was so bad, I can't help but worry about this.

Maybe its just me but I've always found this guy to be a one hit wonder.

The Waynes World movies and thats about it. I have no vested interest in his style of comedy.

Part three was far and beyond the weakest in the series.If this going to focus more on Dr.Evil there may be some hope.Honestly this series should be put to rest.
