I would have posted this in the horror section, but it appears the filmmakers have cut the vampire story starring Brandon Routh. I'm a bit pissed about that, since it was the strongest of the novel. But I'm still excited, as this may be the closest we will ever get to a faithful adaptation of a 80's LA Ellis novel. Unless Tarantino actually follows through with his plans to remake Less Than Zero. Yeah, that's likely.

I've only read American Psycho from him, i'd read more from him but I still got many others to read first. Anyway, The Informers looks sweet.

This movie came out a few weeks ago in limited release. Anyone catch it? I actually really dug it, although it felt like it needed to be fleshed out a little more. It's not very mainstream friendly so I could imagine a lot of people not used to strangely structured films even walking out of it kind of like what happened with Southland Tales and Repo! The Genetic Opera. Acting was awesome and it really captured the self centerness of Ellis's characters. Amber Heard (aka Mandy Lane) is a total Goddess and spends the majority of her scenes naked.

Unfortunately when Gregor Jordan took over directing duties from producer Nick Jarecki he cut the Vampire storyline from the script and never filmed it. Brandon Routh was even cast as the vampire, Jamie, but was let got before the film lensed.

I want to check the book out. Read an interview with Ellis and he said he thought it was a great script, but the director didn't match his taste and he's not too happy with the finished version and says it didn't capture the sense of humor he wanted..
