I hate new Tangina. Other than that, I'm still optimistic. Don't think it'll be great but should be fun. Will probably do well in theaters.

I think the remake looks alright, but the problem I have is that the trailers seem to show A LOT of the scares. Some of those scares look like they could've been decent in the movie, had they not been spoiled in the trailer.

That is so insanely creepy.......that little girl looks so much like Heather O'Rourke from the original.

OK, in all seriousness, a few bits here and there did actually make me jump and it's from the guys who remade Evil Dead, a remake that was far, far better then we expected it to be. At the same time, so much looks cliched of what I've seen from other haunted house films in the last decade and a half. This is very much a wait and see film.

I feel nothing watching that trailer.

I was never a fan of the original series... i mean, i enjoyed them as a kid and never hated the series, i guess it always felt like i "graduated" to better horror fairly soon after. But i figured if they had a good cast and decent writers, it could be a good movie, even as a reboot. But no, probably not. After viewing the trailer i feel more empty than i did before.

Hollywood, i beg of you, please stop the reboots and remakes. For the love of god, you've literally rebooted every single fucking thing from my childhood and have maybe gotten it right once... maybe. Im having a hard time thinking what that "once" may be.

A big part of the original was they didn't know their house was on top of a cemetary. But right in the trailer Dr. Ashford tells them it is. Yet some of it looks like each of the key scenes are yanked right from the original. It looks like a mess to me, and yes the trailer seems to have shown way too much.

This is where the marketing department drops the irony bomb. The whole reason to do a remake/reboot is the assumption there is a new audience out there that hasn't seen the original and isn't interested in the original because it's "old". I know people like this, they see something that, because of music or cars or fashion, etc. it's obviously from before they were born or before they started watching movies so they instantly choose not to relate to it. So Hollywood is catering to these people when they choose to make something again that they've made before that was successful. They're trying to get lightning to strike twice.

But the trailer reveals too much, reveals key information that needs to unfold with the story, because it was made by someone who has seen the original and is making the assumption that others have seen the original and they're therefore not revealing spoilers or completely fucking up the experience for a noobie.

Not even the presence of Sam Rockwell makes me want to give Raimi another chance. All of the good will he earned back when he did Drag Me To Hell, making up for those Spider-Man movies, he lost with that cash-in on Evil Dead. Piss on that pile.

I don't think I ever really cared that much for the original. It has been awhile since I've been to the theater, and just for the reason of getting out I may go see this or I may decide not to. Its going to depend on how much I want to go out and what else is playing at the time.

Something subtle I picked up on. They changed the tagline from "It knows what scares you." to "They know what scares you.".

I wonder why the change. Something about using the word "It" there makes it more creepy. It seems like a lot of the movie is a complete rehash of the original but it also seems like they are going out of their way to make blatent changes as well.

I also don't like how they are going out of their way to explain what is happening even as far as putting the explaination in the damn trailer!

    This movie will be poop.

That is actually a good point. I have studied a lot of shit with the paranormal to educate myself for writing purposes.
The shit that takes place in Poltergeist isn't even close to poltergeist activity.
