Very good movie and I still watch it from time to time...
Also is one of the better remakes I had seen.

Childhood favourite. Pretty gory too which is a plus. I wish Michael Kenworthy made more horror films in the 80's. For a child actor, he did a good job of not being annoying.
Kitchen sink kill easily the best in the film, cringe worthy indeed!:

I haven't had fearnet since college. Are they playing better movies now? When I had it, they played all this incredibly low-budget, terribly edited crap.
The Blog '88 scared me shitless when I was a kid. The special effects were purely bad ass.
Not to mention...
SPOILER
The scene where they're in the sewer and one of the kids gets it. You don't see many american movies where children actually die, especially that violent.

I've watched this on fearnet 3 times! lol. I dig the original, I've got the t-shirt from fright-rags. But this is one of the best remakes out there, right up there with The Thing and The Fly remakes in my opinion. The gore and special effects are absolutly top notch. They just don't make em like they used to. I've heard rumors of another Blob movie for along time. I'd give it a shot but I think, but I think they'd CG the hell out of it. But this remake? One of the best the 80s has to offer.

I like both versions, but prefer the original over the remake. The Original was filmed in Pennsylvania and the movie theater has been torn down ages ago. For those that didn't know there was a sequel to the original titled Son of the Blob. I have only seen the sequel once so my recollection of it is quite fuzzy. The remake did leave it very open to having a sequel, but I guess there wasn't a huge boxoffice turn out , so they canned the sequel idea.
