OUSTED HELLRAISER WRITERS TAKE ON HALLOWEEN SEQUEL

It appeared that Dimension Films was not happy with what Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury had come up with for the upcoming Hellraiser remake when the studio opted to ditch them for the flavor-of-the-month writing duo of Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan earlier this year. Arrow in the Head, however, is reporting that Bustillo and Maury are working on a sequel to Rob Zombie's Halloween.

In an interview appearing in the September issue of Rue Morgue Magazine, Maury is enthusiastic when talking about the chance to continue the re-imagining of Michael Myers that Rob Zombie started.

"...it's a proposition we couldn't refuse,” Maury explained and added that he and Bustillo are well aware of Zombie's re-imagining of Michael Myers and they're out to put their stamp on the character, not copy what came before them. "Therefore, our vision will be done with utmost respect, with a continuity of [Zombie's] work but also a real evolution of the world he set in place."

Really not surprising.

Nice to see Dimension has NO balls whatsoever. If they were make a legit logistic sequel. Why not just make Laurie a crazy who eventually goes on a spree of her own. Based off the ending of the movie, that would be the only logical way to go.

Instead they have to 'bring him back'. From the beginning, the franchise was meant to be something different with each entry after Halloween 2 but eh Myers brings Dimension what they care about most.

For the record, I didnt have much of a problem with Robs Halloween. Still I'd rather have it a one shot deal or Laurie as a the killer rather than a Myers rehash.

Lame..... The remake shouldn't have a sequal. I would of liked the remake alot more if it weren't for the dialog. Everyone talked as if they were the most vulgar trailer trash person on the planet. I mean come on! Sweet little Laurie strode finger fucked a bagel in front of her mom!

Another thing I hated is that Michael just kinda walked and stalked everyone. He was just supposed to like appear and shit. Not be just another typical stalker slasher.

I thought that the remake of Halloween was a great stand-alone movie. I am not liking the idea of a sequel, and especially the re-imaging of a re-imaged character.

the original Halloween is one of my favorite movies. But I dug the remake, it was different. Not the same thing again, which is what a remake should be if its gonna be done. I actually felt bad for michael, I liked that. Gave him some character. Its cool in the original to have this mysterious monster with no real motive, but been there done that. I dug the original. Although I agree with Gatsu about everyone acting like trailer trash. I would like to see Lauris friend back, the one that got stabbed real bad and was in the original sequals when she was younger. Damn it whats her name! She never ACTUALLY died in the first one. Just got fucked up.

Also, who's to say they won't make Laurie the killer. The interview means nothing in the end. But logic isn't a hollywood strong point, so I guess it means he'll be back (I havent seen the remake).

I'd rather see a new Halloween movie that picks up where Halloween 6 left off. I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed the Thorn concept and would like to someday see a resolution to that storyline.
