I loved House of 1000 Corpses, for some reason it just terrified the shit outta me "Behold... Fishboy!" but yeah, the Halloween movie sucked, almost as much as the original

I love the original and I enjoyed the remake. It wasn't the best but enjoyable. House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects are a couple of my fav. films. They aren't scary or anything but the characters are incredible.

I do not know about the rest of you but I justs didn't find Michael Myers to leave any lasting impression of fear. Now Jason Voohees on the other hand was a work of pure genius. Though more people regard Halloween as being the better movie due to the fact it has a better plot "which it does".

The original Halloween was greatand helped pave the way for the genre. RZ version wasn't bad but I do agree that the kitchen scene where they are arguing is a little ridiculous

Only good thing to come of this: Sherri Moon Zombie won't be in it.

Biggest problem with RZ's remake is that it is a remake. Had his movie taken out the whole Michael Meyers and Halloween aspect, and did something new it would've been a great new franchise and slasher film. I know it's his re-imagining and whatever, but the film didn't need that. So much potential for RZ to have created an awesome new slasher series, instead it lags the bagagge of a superior and established film.

I don't see how a sequel could be worse than the remake.
Unnecessary to say the least, but i'm sure it will make money..

Myers made money this time around because of the high profile nature of everyone involved on the project. I think there was a bit of curiosity on the part of many who wanted to see what that movie was going to be like.

Jason needed Freddy to make money again after two absolute bombs in JTGH and JX. It will be interesting to see if the Friday remake does well because its alot more lowkey on starpower atleast well known star power compared to the hype machine that Halloween had behind it.

I dont think Jason will bomb again especially if its as creative and dark as the early entries were but if its anything like 8 beyond, it could be the final nail for Jason.

It's a remake it WILL NOT BOMB. Friday the 13th remake has a better director behind it than Zombie. The man is a hack, 1 decent film out of three is piss poor

    Nah I hear ya.

Im just saying the hype machine along with who was involved with that project combined with pure curiuosity I think helped make that fllm more money than it would have otherwise.

Being a Jason homer, im torn. I'd like to see it do well but on the other hand, that does not garuantee a shitfest free film that could lead to more garbage via box office success.

    We shall see I suppose.

as hard as RZ tried he just couldn't remake Halloween with the same style and flair that made the original so compelling.

I know a lot of fans enjoyed seeing Micheals backstory and him as a little kid but this was a mistake. It made us sympathize with Micheal. something were not really supposed to do even if it is fun watching him hack people up. It was far more effective having Micheal Meyers come from an idyllic upper middle class suburban home. Having this unstoppable evil emerge from such a background is an amazing social commentary.

Meyers should have never been seen speaking. Not even once.

not a cool way to go.

I also had issues with the bed sheet scene. if you're walking straight into an abandoned house and don't bother to look up ten feet to see the masked psycho killer standing on the balcony then you deserve to be murdered.

I'd rather see a halloween sequal that picks up on the original.

I always counted Rob Zombies versions to be spin offs not of the original series myself.

the thorn ideas confuse me...but if we do get a sequel i'd want to see all ideas of 'realism' thrown out the window. start the sequal with the thorn cult ressurecting micheal and take it from there.
