I checked this out the other night, and to my suprise I liked it. I'm a fan of Jason Stathem but for some reason I didn't expect much from this, mostly because the original movie is so stupid I Couldn't even finish it. But those are the movies that need to be remade I guess, although most people disagree with me that the original sucked.
Anyways this one was pretty good, I really liked the way Frankenstein looked, and I was suprised and happy to see they had managed to throw in power-ups like in a lot of racing games where you can shoot at your opponents. They had certain places on the track if you rolled over them your guns and other weapons would become active. I dug that idea. Jason Statham was like he always is, but thats not a bad thing. I've always been a fan of the guy.
Tyrese although I gotta say I just don't buy him as a bad mother fucker, he's to much of a hollywood pretty boy to me. They should have gotten someone else (would have been nice had it been stallone again I think) I liked the cars, they were built for fighting and defending, didn't look like a dinosaur or a bull like in the original. The racing scenes could have been filmed a little better, the camera did go nuts sometimes but I've seen worse. Plot wise the movie is pretty easy to figure out, not much brain power needed here. And I found it pretty funny the female prisoners would dress really hot, doubt they get to dress like that in real lifebut all in all its a good action movie. I was suprised that I enjoyed it so much. Some of the deaths were done pretty well too, if your looking for a good action movie, this is right up your alley. If your looking for a bit of a thinker movie with some real plot, watch Jason Statham in The Bank Job instead.

The entire world watches (and of course pays to watch) and if you win 5 races you win your freedom. Jason Statham takes over the role of Frankenstein because he dies but he's such a popular character they want him to keep going.
