The "Scariest" movie when you were a kid

When I was three Freddy used to scare the piss out of me. Then as I got older said screw it and watched em all I love Freddy now... After that it had to be the exorcist. Since them I'm still looking for a horror movie that will be able to scare the pants off of me at this age lol.

I remember seeing the original of SALEM'S LOT when it was on tv almost 25 years ago. the kid scratching on the window always freaks me out without fail. Regarding scariest movies as a kid,ROSEMARY'S KILLER just recently got released in the UK.I saw it in HMV yesterday priced at £15 and thought about buying it,but it would more than likely be really lame looking now! The scene in particular is when the girl goes into the shower and her seemingly dead boyfriend jumps out at her.Always stuck in my memory!

Actually, the movie that scared the balls off of me wasn't even a horror flick. Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan. The part where that thing gets inside chekov's ear?

Uhh, to a lesser extent:

Hellraiser, evil dead, halloween, puppetmaster, house, phantasm, TCM, and some others I forget.

Jason and freddie are awesome, but they didn't scare me much.

For me it was the first two Halloween movies. Mostly due to the music, as a child that music was the most menacing thing I had ever experienced

Yes,that window scratching scene was quite intense for my very young mind.
That scene and the little girl under the bed scene in 'Dont go to sleep'caused my parents electric bill to go way up,with all the lights I needed on around the house before I recovered.

Dude...If you get the chance,do watch the original 2 part(as it was released in the UK) version. It's the glowing eyes and the toothy smile that does it.....and the scratching....Gives me chills just thinking about it!!

Poltergeist 2 scared the shit out of me when I was 10. The old preacher who keeps peoples souls trapped under the house freaked me out. Also the first Nightmare on Elm st. and Delta Force
