    And Halloween 4 is cool.

You have a point, albeit I don't agree. Generally you do up everything in a slasher sequel, but the great thing about the Halloween films(as oppossed to other slasher franchises) in my opinion is that they never just killed people to up the body count. Meyers was maticulous in his killing, as if he was widdling down wood. I think the kills themselves were more violent this time around (buring water scene) which is always effective, but I don't think you need to up the ante neccessarily in every sequel (Hills Have Eyes 2 remake, case in point). That being said i enjoyed the second film, it does what a sequel should do and that is continue the mythos established in the first film. To me it stands out as a great example of how to make a slasher sequel, the timeline is directly after the first film leaving little explanantion of things that passed between films.

Who cares what "reviews" say about a film, ultimately it's all about did YOU enjoy it. Some of my favorite movies are those that are least regarded as being good or even worth watchin.("Freaked" anybody?)

I liked it, and havent really heard anyone say anything negative about it.
Agreed. The shots of him stalking around the hospital make the movie for me. It's not as good as the original, but compared to other first sequels, it's better than most.

I always thought that H2 was one of the best horror sequels. You can watch it back to back with Halloween and it doesn't even feel like 2 different movies. It just feels like one really long movie.

I liked part 2. It's actually pretty effective and creepy. Part 3 is awesome too, it's just a fun flick with an interesting concept.

True, but movies are always, in one way or another, a document of the time they were created. There was certainly a shift in the level of how graphic things were between '78 and '81 and the second film is a product of that. Owing to that fact, I guess I don't view it as that much of a transgression...

Halloween 2 was a cash in that was more slasher than suspence, but I still love it. The first Halloween will always be an unrepeatable masterpiece (though I really like Zombie's rework). But 2 as a continuation of the 1st made it pretty solid as a sequel.

Now, for Halloween 3. I remember I first saw 3 and was appaulled and disgusted (and I don't mean for gore content). I originally thought it was an abomination and it totally discreditted the greatness of the first two.
But I watched 3 for the first time in many years on AMC last Halloween with an open mind, and have to admit it wasn't as bad as I remembered.
    (spoiler warning)
I think they dropped the ball by making the henchmen robots and not a legion of Thorn cursed, like Michael. They also could have made the evil, rich novelty tycoon (I can't remeber the character's name) a benefactor of Michael slaughtering his family, which would bring prosperity for others. Would have tied it into the other movies.

I thought Halloween II was good. Had a creepy setting in the hospital and some nice kills. What's not to like?

Must be just me then, but I didn't like this flick, I didn't like the original and I didn't like any of the sequels that followed it. The remake was ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.

    This is just my opinion.

    Awsome:
    Halloween
    HalloweenII

    Bad:
Halloween3(seemed more like a scifi movie then a horror)
    Halloween4
    Halloween5
    Halloween8

    Ok:
    HalloweenH2o
Halloween Remake ( could of been better)
