Ah, but that's only one of many shitty, pointless remakes.
They (rarely) can be surprising. Not often.

The Hills Have Eyes remake in my eyes far surpassed the original.

I wouldn't mind seeing a better remake of The Amityville Horror. The first remake wasn't bad but only because Ryan Reynolds had me laughing throughout the whole thing.

I was about to mention The Hills Have Eyes remake. It definitely was superior to its counterpart.

I didn't really like The Amityville Horror remake... it just didn't really work for me. I mean, it wasn't bad-bad, but some parts I just couldn't help but stray away. So a better remake of it has my vote too.

I keep hearing that they want to re-make it again, IMO John Carpenters version is the best, absolutely NO NEED for a remake again, it being remade the 1st time was good because there are movies from the 50's & 60's that were a good idea but are just so old now and would make good movies if they were re-made and The Thing was one of those.

I really don't think I want to see anymore remakes, but if there is one that needs to be done correctly it's Killdozer. I looked for that movie for years because it sounded so cool and when I finally watched it I couldn't find one redeeming quality about it. Has anyone else seen it?

I agree with that as well. I mean, the original Scanners wasn't all that bad, but I just felt it was too slow and a little bit on the boring side. Darren Lynn Bousman was supposed to direct the remake, but I think I heard a while ago that he backed out of it. Now I don't know who's in the director's slate.

Ya know, I will agree some remakes are worth seeing, the fly, the thing, the blob. I could name some more recent ones but I think alot of people here will not agree. It just bothers me that some people who are obviously talented, like say Aja, would would be invovled in a remake instead of creating something new. I understand the whole re-invisioning for a new generation arguement, but when I was a kid there wasn't a crap load of remakes pumping out of studios and i still spent countless dollars at the theatre or video store for new movies. I know it's the cool thing for everybody to do, remake a movie that came out 15 to 5 years ago and that my opinion means nothing to the studios racking in the big bucks, I just want to bitch about it for a minute. Alot of people think Saw sucked, but I praise it's originality. Give me Hachet or Spiral, or Hostel or 28 days later. I like to see people use there imagination to try and create something different, not re-do someone elses idea.

I would like IT to be remade. The version we have now is pretty cool and it scared the crap out of me when i was younger. It could do with a refresh though.

The Boogens....I like the original, but still wouldnt mind seeing an updated version of this movie.

When Worlds Collide....I actually think this is getting a remake.

Growing up in the 80's,I used to love watching the Doug McClure dino flicks from the 70's 'The Land that Time Forgot' and it's sequel 'The People That Time Forgot' and 'At The Earths Core'.Thats when I was young though,I watched these movies a few years ago and couldnt help but think how much better these would be remade.

    Cloverfield,I hated the shakey camera.

War of the Gargantuas...would just like to see an updated version.

Son of Kong,I thought this was more fun then King Kong.

    Clash of the Titans.

    The Valley of Gwangi

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

IT doesn't need to be remade, it needs to be forgotten and they should adapt the book so that this time it atleast, you know.. TRY's to follow the book..

    Thank you for replies.

When I watch some movies that could be improved with another try I don't mind a remake. But who wants to re-make a movie that wasn't good or made lotsa money?

And I am against of re-making cult classics, good flicks and big box office behemoths.
