Like many movies to come out of the eighties, Halloween had a shit loud of bad sequels and this is one of them, kinda.
The story focuses on the niece of Michael Myers, Laurie's daughter, who is now in foster care. Though the girl has never met the "boogeyman" face to face, she has visions and dreams of him stalking her. But soon her visions and dreams start to come true as Michael, who has been in a hospital for years, starts terrorizing she and the town of Haddonfield once again.
Now this is when Dr. Loomis comes back to stop Michael from killing his last blood relative.
Now as I have said before, the movie is very corny. For one, you expect me to believe that after his face being burned into a crisp in the second film, that he is just supposed to be put healed, reconstructed with eyes, and a nose in this film. Then we have Dr. Loomis? He was blown up in the second, and now they give us a bullshit reason to why he is alive in this one, I think? And last what is it with him trying to kill his last blood relative? Why is he doing these things? I mean wasn't he after Laurie in the first and second. They basically just have him kill his relatives for the fun of it I guess? I'm glad that they remade this, because it was bad news from start, mainly though to sequels.
Although the movie has many faults it was entertaining. You have your basic set of characters, and some cool death scenes, mainly the face ripping scene and the one when he impales the shotgun through the girls stomach and pins her against the wall. It was suspenseful, but I still can't get over this stupid story.
One more thing about the story, why in the hell is this girl having visions by a man she has never met? She's only a child, and this would be her first encounter with him.
So this was one of those projects that definitely needed remaking, due to dumbass sequels, and I am glad they did, but just don't go into all this stuff about other relatives like this one did. Suspenseful, good death scenes, but with a dumb story, what is meant is meant for an unneccesary sequel. I give this a 5 or maybe something even lower.
