Need some suggestions The Descent.

Okay, basically just a couple days ago I finally got around to watching the Descent. Seriously one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. The complete creepiness of the whole thing had me on edge the whole time. I have NEVER screamed during a horror movie before and I've seen so, so many of them, but I screamed three times during that.
Anyway, I LOVED IT.

I don't know how to put this into the correct terms or words, but you know when a "popper" comes up in a movie that scares the shit out of you? And the BANG music comes on suddenly? (In this case it was when the crawler first showed up in the movie on the video camera nightvision and disappeared) I need to find a movie with alot of those.


If someone could suggest some films with that exact creepy aspect and just general amazement I'd be so grateful. I was thinking along the lines of maybe The Strangers (haven't got around to watching it, only the trailers.)

Ahaha, yeah, it was pathetic.
But man, that was a good movie. British films just know how to freak a freak like no other.

I still jump at the sudden load music cues or bangs. Even after seeing so many horror flicks in theatres, it still happens every once in a while.

As far as other movies to recommend, I'm really drawing a blank.

the descent is one of my fave movies to watch on my home theatre, high volume and all! the only other movie i can think of off the top of my head at the moment would be "supernatural" which is an 80's horror that has similar effect IMO.

I tried to get into 28 days later, it felt so slow, so I never got to any good parts

The Hills Have Eyes remake, Dog Soldiers (same director as the Descent), pretty much anything new has the lame jump scares you're looking for.
