This decade

Anyone foresee this decade being any different than the 2000's? I mean the 90's was quit a bit different then the 2000's (I preferred the 00's). Even though it's early on in the new decade, it doesn't seem like they're pulling away from that style. Granted it's probably due to the remake aka we have no talent era, still being in swing.

Basically wondering if people here think we're gonna get a style change up, or suffer a double length stagnation.

I doubt any thing will change. People are getting lazier, so more terrible remakes and CGI for everything.

Man how bleak is this, only 1 lukewarm positive guess on the new gen of horror. I can't say i'm to surprised as they truly haven't been doing anything worthwhile lately.

Horrible CGI, remakes, sequels, Stephen King's adaptations, useless 3D... sounds so good haha

Hope there will be some change and surprises. But it's too early to assume there will be none...

I dont have a problem with most remakes. Sequals dont bother me, 3D is good if the movie is filmed in 3D most of the time. The thing I hate is that CGI bullshit. It just ruins the whole experience for me, if your trying to scare me stop making everything look so stupid. There hasnt really been a good monster movie since Tremors because of that shit.

The Relic was pretty good, just wasn't that pure comedy style.

I agree with steelba 00s were definitely better than the 90s as a whole everything seemed to get more brutal and violent (even the remakes and CGI) Some of the more successful horrors in the last couple years were slashers (or slasher remakes) so I expect the trend of more slashers to increase along with the brutality and maybe we will see a return to the 80's awesomeness as Misfit suggested.

I'm hoping things will get better but they could certainly be worse

I feel it is going to move towards alot of CGI and 3D. If you want quality horror may only have to watch out for what comes out of Europe and the underground.

I think some gems will come out of the mainstream but I would not hold my breath in between these!
