Trailer Park of Terror *minor spoilers*

So I finally heard about this movie through a friend who stated it was "John Waters meets Tobe Hooper." I will address that assessment in a minute, but first lets get down to the basics.

Plot: A group of misfit teens are traveling home from a retreat with their youth pastor when *gasp* their bus has a fender bender leaving them stranded and *gasp* without cell coverage. They take refuge in a small trailer park where they meet the beautiful Norma and her psychotic Zombie friends.

Gore: There are some decent moments here, particularly a skinning scene that ends in the worst way anyone could ever die. Impressive. Gore quotient = Not a bloody feast, but not a dry appetizer either.

Acting: Run of the mill horror stuff. I think the bad acting had more to do with the often bad material they were given. And why do horror rednecks always sound like the guitar player from the Muppet Show band? Overall they were certainly a talented group of comedic actors performing in a low budget horror movies. This ain't "Sense and Sensibility" and it shouldn't be.

Make-up: I'm torn here because some of the effects were INSANELY AMAZING...especially the character of Larlene (meeeeeat). But a few of them looked a little too "local haunted trail" to me.

Overall: This is no John Waters meets Tobe Hooper simply because those two men in their own right can produce completely brilliant films. This is not a brilliant film. In fact, it's really not all that good of a film. I never really understood the whole "selling her soul to the devil" thing until I watched the special features and had it spelled out for me. I do however recommend if you do rent this on DVD, check out the featurette. It is FAR more entertaining than the film itself.

I can recommend this film if you literally HAVE to see it, but just remember Pucky told ya it's just..."ok"

    5/10

It wasn't that bad of a movie IMO. I viewed it as a B movie and I came out of it overall please, despite the plot holes and such.

Listen to every single horror redneck of all time and they all affect their voices in the same way...and it ALWAYS sounds like that guitar player from the Muppets with the big mustache.
