    http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/para...ts-world-war-z

Yesterday, we reported on Steven Spielberg and George Lucas predicting the drastic changes they anticipate for the theater-going experience, which they believe would entail a bigger and more expensive event, albeit with fewer selections. Ironically, Paramount is now testing out a new "experience" for their upcoming zombie apocalypse thriller WORLD WAR Z, offering what they call a "mega ticket," which guarantees a number of ammenities to accompany an advance screening of the film, including: -One (1) adult admission ticket to the 6/19 advance 3D show of World War Z -One (1) HD digital copy of movie when available* -One (1) pair of World War Z collector's custom 3D glasses** -One (1) official limited-edition movie poster -One (1) small popcorn * One (1) HD digital movie copy available to download or stream when released on street date. Internet connection and compatible device required.

So, for $50 you get a decent amount of stuff, although I think it would be up to the individual consumer if these items are worth the cash or not. For some, posters and 3D glasses could be worthless, while things like an HD digital download and a small popcorn (especially at concession prices) may sweeten the deal for others. It's an interesting move and, if successful, could lead to future films offering similar "mega" tickets. Naturally, this is being tested in a limited amount of theaters in some select locations, but if it takes off, I'd expect the idea to expand to other markets. I think some will scoff at this idea initially, but ultimately, I think it comes down to individual preference. You could certainly wait and see the movie in wide release, but for some fans it may be worth the price to see it early and get some swag to go with it. Would you pay more to see, say, STAR WARS: EPISODE VII or THE AVENGERS 2 a few days earlier? A week earlier? And get some swag, like t-shirts, posters, downloads, etc.? I'm willing to bet the bigger movies would fetch a mighty dollar for their tentpole "sure thing" films. In fact, I'd probably be one of them for a select few.

I like the mega ticket idea, but if it's something we start seeing more often, I'd like cheaper alternatives, especially if you only want a couple items as opposed to all of'em. But either way, definitely a neat idea, even if the movie they're testing it out on isn't the greatest choice

OK, well I saw this last night. Whatever I say isn't going to change anyone's mind...nor should it. What everyone here already thinks for the most part is accurate IMO. As horror fans going into a movie about zombies we expect a horror movie. Crazy, I know. But what we have here is an action movie using the zombie genre as a diving board to gain an additional audience.

With all that has been said about this flick from production issues to Pitt's temper tantrums to re-writes actually all bleeds through the final product. And yes, it is as bad as you think. Plot holes galore, needing to suspend your mindset for what is realistic or not even for a zombie movie needs to be tossed aside and Brad Pitt comes off as an 80's action hero where he can kill hundreds of zombies and not even get a scratch, or if/when he does he will throw some Neosporin on it, throw on a band-aid and back to killing as usual. You will be asking yoursle WHY? over and over and over.

The movie works as a high octane action (Emerich) flick but nothing more. From my point of view when I see a movie about zombies I want horror and not a PG-13, CGI filled actioner. The movie is a mixed bag of trying to walk the line of being both but fails miserably. There are some scenes that do a good job of building up tension but they are forgotton amongst the grand scale of filming during the major set-pieces. At times it feels like you are watching two films directed by two different people.

By the time the last 20 minutes or so rolls around it feels like you are watching an entirely different film. Which is a pretty damning statement considering it already feels like you are watching two different visions of the same movie. All of the chaos and mayhem is forgotton and, well let's just say the ending is a cop out. It is bad enough the last 20 minutes to half hour feel like an add on and not part of the original version of the film, but then you get this ending that is basically slapping the audience across the face, taking their money and then runs away laughing.

IMO, one of the wors horror films of all time....visually annoying and overall uninteresting.

There are so many reasons why that I WON'T get into because I'll ruin it for those who haven't seen it...but if you thought the zombies ran fast in the Dawn remake....these look they they have jet packs.

Yeah, some people wanted to see it yesterday. I denied their request to go. I won't give this film my money. Download or watch on Netflix maybe but won't see this shit in theaters. I'm already angry when you mentioned super fast zombies.
