I didn't hate it. Was just a popcorn flick for me. Not the worst I've seen but nothing amazing either. An R rating would have helped this sooooo much.

I thought is was ok. Still prefer the slow moving zombies, but whatever. It kept me entertained for a couple of hours, and basically look at it as a decent popcorn flick.

Still don't think it deserves as much hate as it gets. By no means the best outbreak movie, but without a doubt it's far from being the worst.

I enjoyed it. Like others have said, it's entertaining and a good popcorn flick. It's more of an action/outbreak movie than a horror film, but that was expected. Would've been better had there been more blood/gore, but I liked it otherwise and it isn't nearly as bad as many have made it out to be. Hopefully have a review for this soon

I wasn't incredibly impressed with it... the tidal wave zombie floods were kinda ridiculous in my opinion... As a fan of the book, I knew going in that it wasn't going to be a faithful adaptation of the source material, but to be honest, I had a hell of time finding much of a connection to the story of the book at all.

Personally, I would have rather seen an HBO/SHOWTIME/ETC series adapted from the book... I think it would have given Walking Dead a hell of a run for it's money.

My main problems were some gaping plot holes and the last 20 minutes. Other than that it is popcorn fodder. But the ending...

I was okay with the ending despite it seeming a bit too convenient and rushed. The original ending I read sounded a bit too dark for regular audiences, so it makes sense they went the route they did.

The original ending also had the only real connection to the book, right? They introduce that shovel+axe combo as the most effective anti-zombie weapon, plus taking place at the big battle in Moscow.

The way they swarm like ants though, in the movie, which wasn't in the sections of the book I read, doesn't seem to be compatible with any form of hand-to-hand combat being effective IMO.

I was reading random chapters at my brother's place while taking various dumps over about a year. I maybe read a third or a half of it, but not the beginning or ending, and not in any kind of order, lol. That and this other cool book called Demons, that's sorta like WWZ only the world has become overrun with demons of various kinds and it follows some folks who are trying to figure out how to fight them, who end up communicating with one of the races/species, etc.

They mention in the book that the zombies would build up enough against a wall to get over it, but it wasn't instantaneous like it was in the movie, it took months and months for the zombies to do that.. At least, that was the impression I got when I read it.
