The original has its problems, but it's still a classic and one of my favorites from Carpenter. Such a shame, Piper is Nada and Nada is Piper.

Most of the time the thought of a remake at least sparks some sort of interest in me,but not this,I have absolute zero interest in seeing a remake of this masterpiece.

I don't mind them using old ideas, but don't go straight out and do a remake. Rip-offs can be wonderful, remakes rarely are.
