I am a big fan of the Jason and Freddy series, but I hope they keep NOES on a more serious tone, keep the jokes to a minimum.

You should listen to your friend Billy Zane He's a cool guy....ahh I need to watch Zoolander again. I think Billy would be an ok choice for Freddy but regardless of who they choose I will see it anyway. I have too much love for the series..especially New Nightmare not to see the reboot of this.

I'm particularly excited for a revamp of all the 80's slasher flicks. Think about it from a cultural perspective: we are reaching the young generation to keep alive something that, artistically speaking, is phenomenal. The directors try to keep true to the originals, but they want to put their vision into their favorite movies, the movies that inspire them to create new classics like Hostel and Saw. Granted, there are people who do not appreciate the art and simply want the money that comes with horror films. We should not berate people for trying to revitalize the slasher flick, especially the big three, as I like to call them: Friday the 13th, Halloween, and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

This could be interesting. Even though I do agree that Freddy's jokes added a little something to the series, they do get a little old.
I would love to see a much darker, twisted, scary version of NOES. I've always loved those movies and I love Robert Englund, but I have also thought that they had the potential to be so much better.

I heard that too, and for a while I thought it would be a bad idea because I'm too used to Billy Bob doing comedies, but my friend reminded me of Slingblade which is very unlike most stuff he's done. So I wouldn't be that bothered if Billy Bob got the role so long as he keeps it serious.

Dude your high as fuck. TCM was a good movie and was better then it;s prequel tcm the beggining. Now i some what agree with what you say about hallowwen because it was not that great. In all, freddy is the best no one even if it is a shit movie can say anything wrong about it

I'm for going with a creepy, dark, twisted as scary as you can get remake of Nightmare on Elm Street~Freddys sarcasm and dark irony sort of lost its charm and got too silly in parts 4 and 5. I particularly liked elm Street 3 with the kids in the hospital trying to fight freddy off.

I won't be paying 10 bucks to watch this. Ill wait till it comes to netflix cause I don't think a remake is needed but since its gonna happen anyway they could make it more dark and twisted. I hope they leave Freddys sense of humor. Only killer who could make me laugh and piss my pants. Also think that this guy should play Freddy http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3417806848/nm0911933
His name is Zack Ward and he was in Freddy vs Jason

The things I have heard about this remake is that Robert Englund WILL NOT be freddy. No verification on if he will be in the film or not. Still having Wes Craven write the screenplay. I heard the Billy Bob Thornton thing, that just made me laugh. I wouldn't enjoy that. Idk how true any of this is but its what I heard.
Christopher Walken is too old to play Freddy... Billy Zane would be interesting.
I hope this remake is good. I am pretty excited about it but I would love to see America be more original and make some new horror movies. Stop stealing from other countries and making them american and just come up with some new shit.
