Rosemary's Baby Remake Scrapped

The movie producers behind a planned remake of 1968 horror classic Rosemary's Baby have dropped plans for a new film.

Brad Fuller and Andrew Form have been working on a way to bring the tale, based on the 1967 novel by Ira Levin, back to the big screen.

But the pair has been forced to admit they haven't been able to conceive a fresh angle which would make a new version credible.

Form tells Collider.com, "We went down that road and we even talked to the best writers in town and it feels like it might not be do-able. We couldn't come up with something where it felt like it was relevant and we could add something to it other than what it was, so we're now not going to be doing that film."

When I first read about this cancelation, I did the happy dance. I am so glad that they realized they could not even meet Polanskis standards. Sorry Ankh, I had no curiosity about their director prospects because either way it would have been a disappointment. I was surprised that the remake of the Omen was at least watchable, this probably wouldn't have even made that mark.

R B is a classic and happens to be one of my favorites in the genre. No way can you remake this one. You'll never find a cast or a director/writer that could come close to the original.(there's only 1 Mia Farrow)

What you will have is the same mess that is the "Psycho" remake.

Didn't they have stupid movie or show that depicted the half human, half demonic child grown up... well anyway always loved this film. Don't see any reason to remake it. I dig the scene where she's ravenously eating the barely cooked meat. Roman Polanski

There was a TV-movie sequel that shows the child grow up into an adult; completely changed Rosemary's character. Not to mention it was quite bad.
