childs play had a pretty cool theme...
the rap group three6mafia actully sampled the beat for one of their songs...
one of the friday the 13ths had a sweet theme too...dont remeber which one but ont eh f13 box set..they use the theme as backround music on the special features disc...

Wasn't horror and not a lot of folks liked it, but the score to The Village was pretty eerie. As for more mainstream themes, I've always loved the Halloween theme. It's classic. Poltergeist too.
