I think instead of a SciFi Channel remake a big budget remake would do the trick. I don't think they will butcher it as bad as the remakes such as "Halloween", "Prom Night", "The Fog", etc.. which all sucked badly if you ask me.

Well, I really don't think that I have to tell anyone how I feel about this remake...lol Whoever they end up casting for Pinhead, has got some mighty big shoes to fill - and I'll be watching very carefully. Because if he doesn't pull off one helluva performance, his suffering will be legendary, even in hell......lol

I've read "The Hellbound Heart" twice; it's really worth the read and if you haven't checked it out, please do so. It's a very quick read (usually a couple of hours of solid reading) and it shows Barker's skill as an author.

I'm down with a Hellraiser remake if Clive Barker is indeed involved; I think that they could tell a very compelling story if they stick to his original vision in "The Hellbound Heart". We'll see...

I have read "Hellbound Heart" and yes, you're right - definitely worth reading.

I think what I'm really trying to say is that some movies are considered icons and indicitive of the 80's horror movie genre, "Hellraiser" being one of those films. And it's hard for the die-hard fans of a particular film to be overly enthusiastic about seeing another actor portray their favourite villian (long live Doug Bradley). But, despite it all, I am going to see it when it's released and hopefully it'll do a fan like me proud.

I don't know what to think about a remake about this.. could be a good thing as Barker will actually be involved and be able to bring his vision to life once again. maybe it will turn out better.. depending on the casting of the film and how they work with the special effects (I'm hoping that computer generated load of crap, sure it's cheaper but it doesn't have the same effect on people.)

Well with Clive being attached to it, his vision won't be lost.they better not get all audience friendly with the violence though, and to see Pinhead on the big screen again (directed properly of course) would be AWSOME!!!

    Angry Hellraiser_Remake!!???

OK, i want to say that Hellraiser been part of my(OUR) Childhood and i'm a bit scared to see what they could do with that.
I would like to see something more groce, more violent and more blood.
We are in 2009, so they could bring something SOo nice and well done with it.
But i meen,it's cool to see that after decades, producers still interested in those Classics of horror.
In 20-30 years, people will still know there name -Myers-Krueger-Spencer-bates...

I watched the original hellraiser on On Demand a few days ago. It had been years since I had seen it and I barely remembered anything about it. Now that my memory has been refreshed? I'm all for a remake. Yes the special effects were great but the story bored me to tears. It was so long and drawn out and how they beat the cenobites in the end was just ridiculous. Its not a movie I'd own or ever watch again. Like I said. I'm all for a remake.

I'll watch it... and I don't give a damn that it's a remake. Remakes in and of themselves don't bother me in the least.

If it's good, I like it... if it sucks, I don't.

The whole "OH MY SWEET FUCKING CHRIST, THEY'RE REMAKING MY FAVORITE MOVIE... OH THIS IS THE END!!!" bullshit is getting fucking old...

Movies are going to keep being remade... yes, they most certainly will!!

And oh the horror, they are gonna remake some fan favorites.. most likely one of your favorites!

... If you have a problem with a movie being remade, then DON'T WATCH THE REMAKE!

Don't help perpetuate the cycle of movies being remade by making them profitable.

If it's something you don't think should be remade, and the concept of it being remade is morally offensive to your sensibilities, then save yourself the heartache and JUST FUCKING IGNORE IT!!!

    Sheesh!

This should NOT be remade. I love this movie and I even like most of the sequels.
