Caught these Pesci comedies on tv last night.
I had forgotten really how underrated Pesci was in comedy roles. Even though I would declare My Cousin Vinny as his best comedy feature. There is no denying that The Super was pretty cool in itself and the plot was simple enough yet genius.
Now 8 heads in a Duffel Bag while not that great of a film or comedy. It still has its moments of both sheer intentional and unintentional comedy.
Rounding out a decent B-C list cast with David Spade who was pretty big at that time even though I've never really ever found him funny and he was nothing to talk about after Farley left us. You also had a good looking Kristy Swanson at the time. The Lead guy though was absolutely abysmal which sorta hurt the film overall. Nevertheless what it lacked in that department was made up for by sticking Pesci in another mob role albeit inferior to Tommy Devito and Nicky Santoro. This Tommy in 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag was still pretty damn entertaining.
Sad that Pesci by and large retired from the biz long ago even though he has one film in production. Still I think these are two of his underrated roles of the 90s. One being a semi decent good film while the other really is not but its still made with Pesci even if it is a gangster lite form of his more famous two mob characters.
