I know this is out of left field but.......what about Mark Hamill?

he's really good with voices Ex. Joker and is capable of making a good character. Plus he is older these days and has more age on his face like Robert Englund.

After failing to get the part of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars (1977), he suggested to a friend that he try out for the part. That friend was Mark Hamill.

About Jackie Earle Haley: Robert Englund was pushing 37 when he first portrayed Krueger. Haley will be nearing 48 years old. If the remake is only a one-off, then I'm sure he will be great. It's a little scary to think that a second series of movies would have a rotating cast portraying Freddy due to Haley's age.

I think he'd be great, I love his Joker laugh, and they can change his voice to becoming demonic and he could have Robert's Freddy personality at a nice different rate. I love Hamill, but like all who praise Freddy, Robert Englund is and will always be the greatest actor to play Freddy, hands down and cut off!

Alot of people could potentially play Freddy. Not alot of people could bring the little touches to the character to make it Freddy and not just some guy in a mask. Robert is Freddy. Its part of his personality. Alot of the little things about Freddy were improv done by Robert and it brought the character to life. I'm sure alot of actors could look decent in the make-up, but when it comes to icons you need more to breath life into the character than looking good for advertising posters.

Big shoes to fill and I'll be greatly disappointed if whoever they pick plays a scripted character rather than become Freddy.

Confirmed: Shia Lebauf plays Freddy, Ellen DeGeneres plays Nancy and Mathew Broderick dressed as Gadget plays Nancy's father role. Just seen it writed in the wall of a public bathroom.

Now, I can't imagine watching another actor playing Freddy without thinking in Englund. I think that torment will ruin the film for me.

NOES has some more memorable chapters than F13th, imo. I mean, NOES 2, as the crappiest edition in the franchise is way better than F13th part V. At least Freddy is always in his films.
