Yeah, I don't see this being good at all. Really. The Jetsons film could work though, but I'm skeptical at Yogi. But anyways, I'm not looking forward to this film. With the success that Fox has had with Alvin and the Chipmunks along with Warner Bros. with the Scooby-Doo franchise, Warner Bros. and Lin Pictures are looking to bring Tom and Jerry to the big screen.
According to Variety, Warner Bros. is looking to create a family-friendly franchise with Tom and Jerry, using a hybrid of CG animation and live action ala Alvin and the Chipmunks and Scooby-Doo.
Eric Gravning is writing the script, which is described as being: "an origin story that reveals how Tom and Jerry first meet and form their rivalry before getting lost in Chicago and reluctantly working together during an arduous journey home"
Warner Bros. is currently developing two other Hanna-Barbera classics, those being The Jetsons and Yogi Bear.
