Rob Zombie Talks "H2"

Rob Zombie spoke to Icons of Fright recently and gave some tidbits on where the Halloween sequel is headed and how it'll be Laurie's movie, saying...

"Now she’s not the happy-go-lucky girl, now she’s a very fucked-up famous person, trying to make sense of this. It takes place over some time, but it starts that night… [In] the first one, Laurie has no idea what just happened. But then she wakes up the next day and someone’s going, ‘Oh, by the way, your parents are dead. All your friends are dead. And actually, your brother is, uh, Charles Manson.’ [Laughs] You know? ‘How do you feel about that?’ Because that’s really the place that she’s in. Everyone she knows is basically dead, and she is related to the person that did it all and doesn’t even know who the fuck she is. So it’s really the journey of figuring out who she is."

It will be interesting to see if they bring back Danielle Harris.

I would think they would and considering she's really a borderline nobody outside of the horror genre I would think all parties involved would.

The plot sounds eh. Almost reminds me of Halloween 5 without the telepathic relationship between Jamie and Micheal. If Rob is smart, he won't introduce any supernatural elements at all. Even though I thought Halloween 6 was a good sequel (both versions). I think that type of stuff should not be a factor in this new series.

Still I would push for Laurie as the killer at some point as I've said before. Not happening though.

If only it was a different chick playing Laurie, I can't stand that Scout chick. She was horrible.

Scout did allright. give her a break. we know she's not Jamie Lee. and Jamie lee is the only real Laurie. But, i'm interested to see where Rob goes with this one.

Sounds like Rob will make a H2 movie without Michael and more white trash lingo being thrown around. I flipped flopped on the remake, at first I liked it, not so much anymore. I wont support this movie by going to the movies like the remake.

I did like the remake, don't get me wrong i am a big fan of the originals. I saw the first one as a different story actually, like the original first Halloween and its sequal part 2, i also have both books that were written that goes with them, after i read the books from the original movie i watched Rob's remake. I noticed then the movie made sense, he was a wicked kid in the hospital before breaking out and attacking Laurie and her friends, Read both original movies book an its sequal and then you'll see where his vision is going. The books had more kills and psychological horror than the actual movies. Rob must have read them an saw the differences in the movies and books, get them they are hard to find. It helped me see his movie for what it was, i mean its informative before you think he made the original remake and went off base or away from canon material, cause he didn't. Like i said read the originals movie novels they contain info the scripts edited out and made into a great addon to the films it explained alot the original movies didn't. I just hope they stay true to the movies integrity, heck in the original, Annie and the other one acted whorish, so why cry and moan Rob made'em cheap sluts. Their characters were originally like that, you forget the joint they smoked before getting to Tommy Doyles house and running into Annies dad. At least danielle harris didn't sing 'no keys', finding out the car was locked and she had 'no keys' runs back into the house and grabs them. Makes it back to car and opens door. Wait didn't a few minutes before, she tried opening the car and it was locked, hence her singing 'no keys'? Well she opened it like she didn't remember why she went into the house in the first place, at least she gave the character depth. Stop complaining! I plan on watching this, i just hope we get a part 3 with micheal in it then maybe everyone will quit bitching. I liked them all, who wouldn't They all were great in my opinion.

I think this is going to be stupid. I don't know how they casted Scout Taylor-Compton as Laurie but she's a horrible actress. I'm sorry but Donald Pleasence was Dr.Loomis. Malcom McDowell is an awesome actor but I wasn't buying him as the Doc. I'm a huge fan of the original but I thought the remake was total crap. It would have been better simply as a prequel telling Micheal's up bringing. But noooo they had to go off the deep end and ruin a classic. I have no expectations for the new sequel. I won't waste 10 bucks to see it that's for sure.

Read that Zombie started shooting principal photography in the Atlanta area today. Also the article stated that there is an August 28th release date. Sounds like they are hurrying this thing along.
