Pretty good recent war movie that has seemingly been overlooked. Unlike other recent features centered on the war, this film has no anti-war message, which is good since I've grown quite tired of seeing that with these movies.
We basically follow a small bomb tech unit, as they attempt to survive their remaining days on the field, before being able to go back home. We witness the group dismantle bombs, go under fire, get held up by snipers, etc.. There are several celeb cameos like Ralph Fiennes, Guy Pearce, David Morse, and even Evangeline Lilly from Lost.
Some real great, tense scenes in the film, especially in the beginning. Some great directing from Kathryn Bigelow (Near Dark, Point Break). Overall, an enjoyable war feature. It doesn't try to shove any kind of message down our throats; it's just a simple entertaining film. Worth a check.
